    Fall Reading List

    Fall Reading List

I have racked up quite the stack of books with all of my late night Amazon browsing lately. I absolutely love reading, however coming across a book that can keep me intrested is a pretty hard task. To be Frank, I haven’t picked up a book in over a year 🙈But back in August I set a personal goal to read 1 book per month, and now my late night online Nordstrom shopping haul has turned into getting caught up in a good book and I have been LOVING it.

There is something about curling up on the couch with a good book and a cozy blanket that I absolutely love. Over the last few months I have found so many good books that I want to read ASAP! So I thought I would share what books I have purchased/ have been reading that way you can have a running list for your next book purchase.

The Marriage Lie: This was last months read & you guys I am obsessed! (I finished this book in a week) And will definitely be reading it over and over again. I was hooked within the first 5 pages and couldn’t put it down after that. I was reading it in the car on lunch break, reading it while at work and even chose to read it over watching my current favorite show, The Blacklist. If you hate a predictable ending, you’ll want to read this.

Bring Me Back: This is the book I am currently reading. Psychological thrillers are definitely my favorite genre so I was super pumped to start it. However the beginning of this book was a little slow for me and didn’t pull me in as much as I had hoped it would after reading all of the amazing Amazon reviews. What pushed me away from the book at the beginning was that each chapter switches from present to past, making it something you have to really keep up with and put thought into, in order to keep up. But like my middle school english teacher always said, give a book 50 pages before setting it aside. I am a little over a week in and I have gotten goosebumps multiple times now. So If you decide to purchase this book, keep pushing through as I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Behind Closed Doors: Another B.A. Paris book. This is a book I haven’t started reading yet but was recommend to me by a girlfriend at work. It does also have the same setup as Bring Me Back (going back and forth between present and past) but I have heard that it is such an easy read. I am really excited to start this (I might take on 2 books this month because I am that pumped).

    Motivational & Uplifting Reads

These books below were all recommended to me by different girl friends and are not something I think I could actually sit down and read for a month. But are more along the lines of “read a few chapters when you need a bit of motivation”.

Girl Wash Your Face: A guide to becoming a joyous, confident woman by breaking the cycle of negativity and burnout and pursuing a life of excitement.

Your Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life: Helps to challenge you and to overcome some of the most challenging moments in life.

The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F*ck: Unlike the above 2 books this one is about cutting this shit and learning how not to be “positive” all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people. I think this will be a super interesting read as most motivational/ life coach books aim to teach you how to have a more positive outlook on life and this one is supposed to really cut deep and guide you on how to actually make CHANGE.

I keep hearing good things about “Girl, Wash Your Face.” Definitely want to check that one out. And love that monogrammed necklace!
