Dressing Up Your Favorite Basic Tee

Dressing Up Your Favorite Basic Tee

I don’t think there is anything more classic than a basic white tee, especially an embellished basic tee. It is not only simple, but it is clean and most importantly EASY! I don’t know a person that doesn’t have one in their closet, but I do know a ton of people that want to transform that basic tee into a quick and effortless upgraded look.

I have been trying to simply my wardrobe a bit with the BIG MOVE {Yes guys, we’re MOVING ~ A blog post on the big move is in the works}! I want to be able to spend less time digging through my closet and more time doing the things I love. However, I don’t want to de-grade my outfits by doing so.
In the process of simplifying my closet I have noticed that I have not only kept items that may not properly fit/ flatter me and items that are “hard to match items”. Yet I still hold onto these items simply because I can’t bring myself to let them go. Anyone else rocking in the same boat? Unfortunately, most of these items I have accumulated over time are fast fashion items that seemed cute for a season or two and end up in the “hard to match items” pile. All in all during this process I have come to learn the value of a basic tee.

It is the one item that I found in my closet that has yet to go out of style. The basic white tee is a staple item for every closet that will NEVER go out of style. Grab your favorite basic tee {Or this pearl embellished one I am wearing in todays post} and let me show you how you can easily dress it up!

Dressing up a basic tee:
Add your favorite light weight jacket, I chose this leather moto jacket (It comes in 6 colors, runs TTS and is available in petite). Grab your favorite pair of skinny’s and add a great heel. Obviously I chose to pair it with this adorable leopard print pair (under $30), as I am leopard print obsessed! Add some statement earrings or fun arm candy and VOILA! You’ve got yourself a super chic look!
You could also pair this basic white tee with a great printed trouser and a blazer for a fun work wear outfit.
